  • 4 medium cucumbers, sliced thin
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 1 tablespoon dill seeds
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Steps

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine vinegar, water, sugar, and salt.

  3. Allow the brine to cool to room temperature.
