Ingredients
- 4 slices of sourdough bread
- 4 slices of crispy bacon
- 1 medium apple (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), thinly sliced
- 4 slices of sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
- Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Steps
- In a skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on one side of each bread slice.
- On the unbuttered side of two slices, layer with cheddar cheese, apple slices, and crispy bacon.
- Drizzle with honey (if using) and sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon for extra flavor.
- Top with the remaining cheddar cheese and place the other slices of bread on top, butter side out.
- Heat a skillet over medium-low heat and grill each sandwich until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side, pressing down lightly with a spatula.
- Remove from skillet, slice in half, and serve warm.
