- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast

- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Steps
- In a small bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt.
- Mix in melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and the yeast mixture; knead until dough forms.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm area for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- In a separate bowl, mix chocolate chips and cocoa powder.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle (about 12x18 inches).
- Sprinkle the chocolate mixture evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log, and pinch the seams.
- Place the log into a greased loaf pan, cover, and let rise for another 30-40 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
