Ingredients
- 2 cups yellow onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ¼ cup beef broth
- 4 slices sourdough bread
- 4 ounces Gruyère cheese, grated
- 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (optional)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Steps
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add onions, salt, and sugar; sauté until caramelized (20-25 minutes), stirring occasionally.
- Pour in beef broth and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
