Ingredients
- 14 oz firm tofu, pressed and cubed
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup cornstarch
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- Oil for frying (vegetable or peanut)
Steps
- Begin by pressing the tofu for at least 30 minutes to remove excess moisture. Cut into bite-sized cubes.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic.
- Marinate the tofu cubes in the mixture for at least 15 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, combine cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
- Remove tofu from marinade and coat each piece in the cornstarch mixture, ensuring an even layer.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, enough to cover the bottom.
- Add the coated tofu cubes to the hot oil in batches, frying for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
- Transfer cooked tofu onto paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
