Irresistible Chocolate Sandesh Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh chhena (homemade cheese)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional: almonds or pistachios)
  • Edible silver leaf for garnish (optional)


Steps

  1. Start by preparing the chhena: Boil milk, curdle it with lemon juice, and drain the whey using a muslin cloth.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the fresh chhena, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, melted chocolate, and vanilla extract.
  3. Mix well until smooth and the ingredients are fully incorporated.
  4. For added texture, fold in the chopped nuts if desired.
  5. Divide the chocolate mixture into small portions and shape each into a rounded or flattened disc, around the size of a golf ball.
  6. Arrange the formed sandesh on a plate and chill them in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to set.
  7. Once set, garnish with edible silver leaf for an elegant touch, if using.
  8. Serve chilled or at room temperature and enjoy!
